Olden Acres Tree Farm is owned by Adam and Katie Nickel. Adam grew up on a dairy farm and has a strong background in natural resource management education and experience. This includes a Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Stevens Point in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Biology. Adam and Katie both earned their Masters Degrees from Minnesota State-Mankato. Katie keeps busy practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist and being home with their children.

We purchased our 18 acre property in 2020 with big visions in mind. Originally, there were only three black willow trees total on the property! That quickly changed with our focus to improve the wildlife habitat on the property, which included the planting of over 5,000 conifer and hardwood trees.

After a few years of working on the property the idea for Olden Acres Tree Farm was born. The long-term vision is to offer family grown Christmas trees to Ripon and the surrounding communities. In 2024 we also began our nursery operation which includes offering a variety of ready to plant potted trees.

Olden Acres Tree Farm is a family affair. Thankfully, we have our two daughters (Millie & Winnie) and son Oliver along for the ride. We hope that the tree farm helps to keep our family grounded and establishes hard-working, nature loving roots for generations to come.
